Lokniketan Trust provides free or minimal cost education and living environment for a few thousand needy and poor children at a number of centres in Gujarat, India since 1961. A moral living environment is nurtured for students from very young age through their college education.
Lokniketan has students from kindergarten up through various colleges which offer acredited Bachelor Degrees in Rural Sciences and Education as well as Master Degrees in Social Works. Most of the children here study at nominal token expense or free.
Before 46 years, in June 1961, with a missionary zeal and enthusiasm, with ardent devotion and dedication the institution was started with 18 students, today it has bloomed with 28 institutions with 3600 flowering faces. They are molded with the spirit of non-violence and non-coercive practices, aspiring to contribute the humanity through sincerity, honesty, humility and fearlessness.

Rakhaxa Bandhan
In presence of hon. Dada – Dadi and Brahmakumari parivar we celebrated ‘Rakhaxa Bandhan’ Ceremony on 16/08/08 at Lokniketan Ratanpur. The ceremony was started with holy prayers. The Students, the teachers of the Institute, Brahmakumari Renukaben, hon. Maltiben and hon. Dadi – Dadi have talked about the importance of the ceremony. All girl students have Tailed Rakhi on the wrist of all the boys students.
62nd Independence Day
62nd Independence Day was celebrated with joy at Lokniketan Ratanpur on 15/08/08. The National flag salutation ceremony held at Lokniketan Ratanpur it on. Harisinhbhai has hoisted the flag and said, “ This is not Gandhiji’s Swaraj, for that the youth on India can do hard work. The Indian youth can bring gandhiji’s dreamed swaraj.” On the occasion there are many programmers like Mass Pass, flag salutation, sports competition, mass meal and cultural programme held by the Lokniketan Institution. The independence day was celebrated with great joy by the Lokniketan parivar.

To increase the interest of the Student in reading and to make them familiar with the books of the library and also to attract them for more and more book reading, ‘ BOOK EXHIBITION ‘ was held at 6th August 2008 in Lokniketan Institute. It was organize by LIBRARIAN Shri DEEPAKBHAI PARAMAR. It was held in the Central Library of the Institute. The Chief guest of the occasion was Shri KIRANCHANDRA PATEL who is also a Librarian in the D.D. Choksi college of education vidhyamandir, Palanpur. Who cut the ribbon and open the Book Exhibition for Students and teachers. Affter that he gave a nice Lecture on the Importance of Library and the place of good books in our life to the students of lokniketan B.Ed. College.
