Dhuva

The western part of Palanpur taluka, especially the area from village Gadh to Deesa is very much backward and undeveloped and the percentage of education is very low there. Primary schools there are in all the villages, but the secondary schools none. If the secondary education is available there and if the girls also get education, the orthodox mind-set of the people might undergo a change for the better. With such a good purpose we established a post basic school in the village Dhuva in June, 1991 and tile people were persuaded to send their boys to our school. The school made a good impact on the village people, so they allowed the village community hall to be used by the school. The village leaders Shri Mashrubhai Desai, Shri Babuji Sarpanch, Shri Rakhaji Thakore, Shri Galabji Thakore etc. played a very positive role for this facility.

In the meantime our efforts were on to find finances. which were made available by Shri Hari Om Ashram, Nadiad. we constructed a very nice and spacious school building with all necessary classrooms, offices, and the facilities. We have a bore-well drilled in the school compound which supplies irrigation on the school farm also.
Presently there are 83 boys and 8 girls in the school. We make efforts every year to get more girls in the schools. This school also has no attached chhatralaya just like in Samadhi school. The economic condition of the people being very ordinary, the pupils have not enough facility in their homes for their studies. Hence the result of die S.S.C. Examination usually remains low. It was 20% in the first year, which has reached 50% in the year 2000. There is a very slow improvement, and our efforts are going on for still better results.
