Lavana
From www.lokniketan.org
This Lavana village of Deodar taluka is situated on the border of Tharad taluka. There was no secondary school and the pupils could not study beyond Std. VII.
The leaders of this Lavana Village as well as those of Ramtila, Chalva, Kuvana etc. villages had organised a Yagna (Vedic sacrifice) all together. Some amount was saved from the income of that yagna and they thought to start a secondary school with that amount. Those leaders had come to know that our trust had established a secondary school in Paldi village and it was working very well. As such all together came to see our managing trustee Mr.Harisinh Chavda at Ratanpur with a request to start a school in Lavana village. The leaders Shri Rajabhai Rajput, and Shri Kalabhai Rajput insisted and our managing trustee Mr.Harisinh Chavda accepted their demand. In order to create awareness for development through education in the people of that |

The school was started with 20 pupils in Std. VIII which has increased to 229 boys and 12 girls in the year 2000-2001. These figures justify our decision to start a school in Lavana.
This school has the largest number of pupils in all our schools. Similarly it is one of the top ranking schools as far as the results of the S.S.C. Examination are concerned. The result of the S.S.C. Examination of the first S.S.C. class was 70% and the same in the year 2000 was 80%. The Principal and the teachers of the school make special arrangement to provide additional coaching to the pupils. That is indicative of their devotion to duty.
Over and above education, this centre of ours carries out activities to create people's awareness and provide them various services.
